Who We Are.

Vector One Racing is a student-led Formula 1600 race team founded to give students real-world experience in professional motorsports. Based in Texas and led by students from Texas A&M University, our team combines engineering, business, marketing, media, and operations into one competitive racing program.

Our mission is simple: bridge the gap between the classroom and professional motorsports. Every aspect of the team, from securing sponsors and managing finances to preparing the race car and creating media content, is run by students. Members gain hands-on experience while working together toward a common goal: competing at the highest level of Formula 1600 racing.

We’re currently preparing to campaign a 1984 Van Diemen RF-84 in the Formula Race Promotions (FRP) Formula 1600 Championship, racing against experienced teams from across the United States. Our goal is to begin testing during the fall and start wheel-to-wheel competition in early 2027.

Vector One Racing isn’t just about racing—it’s about developing future leaders. We believe motorsports provides one of the best environments for students to learn teamwork, leadership, communication, project management, and technical problem-solving under real-world pressure.

Our business team works directly with sponsors, manages partnerships, develops marketing campaigns, oversees social media, coordinates logistics, and helps build a sustainable organization. At the same time, our engineering and operations teams prepare and maintain the race car for competition.

Together, our students gain experience that prepares them for careers throughout the motorsports, automotive, engineering, and business industries.

Looking Toward the Future.

As we continue to grow, our vision extends far beyond a single university. We are actively working to expand our student team by bringing in members from additional universities, beginning with Texas A&M and eventually other colleges across the country.

Our long-term goal is to create one of the premier student-run motorsports organizations in the United States, giving students from diverse backgrounds the opportunity to gain professional racing experience while competing on a national stage.
